Talking about music… second albums

Shortly before I skipped the country for a couple of weeks over summer, I had the pleasure of sitting down and talking music again with Geoff Stephen for the third series of his 1002ndalbum podcast.

This time we talked about our ‘must hear’ second albums, no sophomore slump on these lists. Having whittled my long list down to a slightly shorter and then final list, it was amusing to see that when Consequence coincidentally dropped their 100 Best Sophomore Albums list, many of our choices (and alternates) made their list too.

  1. I listened to it on Geoff’s blog. Lots of your choices were breakthrough, career saving albums. Even if Wild, Innocent wasnt a huge commercial success, it kind of gave Springsteen more identity than his debut did.
